The site, in a local village allowed for three separate plots, all giving the opportunity for 4-bedroom properties to be proposed, of varying sizes and bespoke configurations; planning permission was gained within this conservation area, with a complex land covenant. The designs and detailing took precedent from adjacent properties and the wider district vernacular, giving the buildings a sense of place within the village, whilst having a contemporary point of difference, The use of open plan design and large bedrooms gave the houses a sense of space and airiness, while large amounts of glazing linked them to the adjacent countryside and views. Being involved on the full detailing of the works enabled continued support to be given to the client and main contractor on site, for the duration of the project.
